Just when everyone was getting on Verizon's case for having a weak smartphone lineup, they release the HTC Touch Pro2, BlackBerry Tour and now they've announced the HTC Imagio (think HTC Whitestone from the rumor mill). This looks to be one sweet touch screen phone and guess what? It runs Windows Mobile 6.5 with our beloved HTC TouchFLO 3D.
The Imagio features a 3.6", 480 x 800 pixel touch screen with TouchFLO 3D. That's the same size as the Touch Pro2's screen and considerably larger than the Diamond2. Sweet. It will also be the first Verizon smartphone to offer V Cast Mobile TV (Qualcomm's Media Flo broadcast TV that uses a digital TV tuner and an antenna that doubles as a kick stand, service cost is $15/month), and Verizon V Cast streaming video clips. It has EV-DO Rev. A for fast data and it's a quad band GSM world phone for international roaming.
You can guess we can't wait to review this WinMo phone, and you shouldn't have to wait too long for that review. You will have to wait until October 6th to order it online from Verizon Wireless and until October 20th to see it in stores. It sells for $199 with a 2 year contract after a $100 rebate.
