Help!! I have a 3900 series iPAQ. The RadioShack personnel assure me that their RadioShack DigiTraveler GPS can be used with this type of PDA. I can't get the PDA to initialize or even recognize the GPS. The instructions for the GPS tell the user to setup the GPS on COM1. The only options I can find are for COM3 and COM4. I have heard that people were able to use the RadioShack GPS for their iPAQs, though nobody specifically said they were using 3900 series.

While I can't help you with COM1 problems as I haven't gone through the installation process myself, just to double check a few things: battery installed, use the correct serial cable (it seems that RadioShack sells cables fit for different devices), the Xmap Handheld CD isn't scrashed.
