The San Francisco announcement event and webcast have barely started but the new website for the phone platform formerly known as Pink is live. And yes, the two new phones running on this platform are called Kin One and Kin Two. Both feature slide out QWERTY keyboards and touch screens.
Kin phones run on a completely new operating system-- it has absolutely nothing to do with Windows Mobile. It's youth oriented and has a dynamic and busy home screen that's social networking focused.
As you'd expect from a modern smartphone, it has music and video players, a full web browser, 5 or 8 megapixel camera (depending on which Kin you choose), messaging and yes, it can make phone calls . The media player is powered by Zune, and that's a good thing since the Zune service rocks. Built in storage is 4 gigs for the Kin One and 8 gigs for the Kin 2.
When can you get one? Looks like late May 2010. The carrier? Verizon, baby.
