Just hit the "x" in the rightmost area of the search field and it wipes out the last search term entered as well as the list of iTunes store matches.

Wow, I don't know why I didn't think of that, thanks!
Lisa, I currently own an iPhone 4...I got it because I agreed with Joshua Topolsky's review of the iPhone 4...it's the best phone in the U.S. (not by much though)...it's the overall package, it has the best dislay (not just because it's retina but because it's so responsive), best camera, best HD video, best CPU, best app availability, etc...I also think it multitasks a bit better than ANDROID, but it fails in notifications...Thing is, the Captivate just came out...and I really like it. While iOS is smooth and classy, it's also boring compared to ANDROID...I love widgets!...Should I take the iPhone 4 back and get the Captivate?...in your Captivate review I read that you actually bought one, did you get it off contract?...any help would be much appreciated...

I did indeed decide to get the Captivate rather than the iPhone 4. Right now I'm a bit concerned about call quality (that's very important to me since I use it for work), and it would be nearly impossible to get a replacement promptly if there were any problems given the lack of inventory. I confess I'm bored a little bit with iOS too, though not enough to give up my iPhone 3GS . Personally, I'm not in love with iOS 4's multi-tasking, but it's better than nothing. BTW, the CPU/GPUs are comparable.
I go through a lot of phones every year, but this time I was actually eligible for a contract upgrade.
As to which you should get, that depends on how much you like the iPhone 4 and how well it's working for you. There's always a tempting competitor out there, but if you're happy enough with the iPhone, there's nothing wrong with keeping it. But if you're really bored with the interface and OS and love those widgets, well, there's a reason to switch.

Well, I have until the 27th to decide. I mean, I also like the Palm Pre Plus because of WebOs and the multi-gesture area, and the HTC Aria because it's so small (it feels so good) and powerful (for its size). I'll have to go and play with them, again . Another question, is it bad to charge the iPhone 4 everynight? Is it bad to power it off every Wednesday night and then power it on Thursday morning, then again power it off Saturday night and on Sunday morning?...I power it off every 2 and 3 days to sort of let it rest...

Hello, parker04sm.
iPhones use lithium-ion batteries, so it is generally best to charge them as often as possible.
When you say you turn off your iPhone, are you talking about holding the button until you see the "slide to power off" slider? I don't see any harm in doing that, although it doesn't necessarily do any good either.
