We loved Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter game for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. It has console quality gameplay and graphics, and here is what JadeDragon had to say about the game:

We chatted with Igor Karev, CEO of Tatem Games that created Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter:
MTR: Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter is such a console level game for the iPhone. Is it an original iOS game or a port from a PC or console game?
Igor: Carnivores is a series of three hunting games made for the PC. Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter is a port of the Carnivores 2 PC game, released in 2002. However, it?s not a direct port, it has been re-worked, optimized and adapted for the iOS. All the user interface and menu systems were re-drawn, and the rendering engine was written from the scratch.
MTR: How many people worked on making the game?
Igor: Almost all graphic content, except the interface, was transferred directly from the PC-version. Therefore we didn?t need a lot of people for this. One programmer was fully involved in the graphic engine creation; one full-time artist was responsible for creating the game menu and interface. We also had a producer involved in the process to adapt the game to iPhone. Two more guys put their work and efforts to form a final view of the game. So ultimately, five people in total were involved in the game?s creation.
MTR: Wow! Only 5 people! Who came up with the idea of hunting dinosaurs?
Igor: This idea goes back to 1997, when we finished developing our first game, Chasm: The Rift. Being inspired by the film Jurassic Park, we decided to create a game in the open space with dinosaurs and jungles. Such technology was an absolute innovation back then. Having developed the first test version of a graphic engine with an approximate gameplay, we discovered that the idea turned out to be very interesting. The special thrill is that in the process of hunting dinosaurs, a player can actually become a dinosaur?s target. Ultimately we conceived a very original and promising project, which we titled Carnivores that went on to be successfully released.
MTR: Cool story! You know, the game doesn't say this, but where does the retrieval ship take the dinosaurs to after you kill/dart them?
Igor: The retrieval ship brings dead dinosaurs to your Trophy room. It is a specially separated very large territory for each hunter. The Trophy room can simultaneously hold 24 different species of dinosaurs. The player can freely walk around in there, examining his/her hard-earned trophies.
If you used tranquilized darts, the dinosaur will just fall asleep and remain in the place where you hit him ? and in this case the dinosaur will not go to your Trophy room.
MTR: Will we see more weapons and maps added in future updates?
Igor: We definitely plan to support the game by adding new features to it. There will be new dinosaurs and new maps in the game soon.
MTR: Excellent! Can't wait! Any new and exciting in the works?
Igor: We currently have three games in development. One of them is RoboSocket and it will release in about a month. It?s extremely fun and addicting and can be considered a cross between Tetris and Pipes, with Match 3 mechanics. Additionally, Carnivores will be released for the PSP Mini in mid-August.
