Amazon Kindle 3 video review
      #38353 - 08/28/10 11:14 PM

Amazon's latest Kindle ebook reader is here and it's available with WiFi for $139 and WiFi plus 3G for $189. The Kindle 3 features the new Pearl E-Ink display we first saw in July on the Kindle DX Graphite, and it has markedly better contrast. PDFs have gotten a boost with zoom, dictionary support and adjustable contrast.

The Kindle 3 is noticeably smaller and lighter than the Kindle 2 and it feels crazy small and light in hand. It's almost hard to believe there's room for the 6" display. Amazon has added a much improved Webkit web browser that works over WiFi and 3G (ouch, take that Nook and it still has a basic MP3 player, Audible support and text-to-speech.

Here's our video review of the Kindle 3 where we test out page turn speed (hint, fast for E-Ink), the new web browser, PDF features and we compare it with the Barnes & Noble Nook, Kobo Reader and Kindle DX Graphite.

Update: our full written review is now live and includes macro (close-up) comparison shots of the Kindle 3, Nook and iPad displays. Read our Amazon Kindle 3 review.
