If you're curious to see what games and apps will be available on the new Windows Phone 7 platform, a selection are already showing up in the Zune Market (via the Zune app for Windows). After an update, the app section of the market is now divided into two sections, Zune HD and Windows Phone 7.
Right now game titles include XBOX Live versions of Bejeweled Live, Hexic Rush and Flowerz.
The Entertainment section lists gems like Farting Dino, Bubble Flower and Silly Eye.
News and Weather has an RSS feed reader for $3.99, NewRoom and SimpleRSS for 99 cents.
Microsoft has quite a few apps including a unit converter and Level (use your phone as a level).
Social apps include Google Voice (not from Google and not free), MSDN Online and Save the Planet.
So far, the apps aren't terribly compelling, but Microsoft has only just started populating the Zune Market with apps. Apps are mostly 99 cents to $1.99, though some are $3.99 and $4.99. XBOX Live games run from $5 to $7.
Apps announced at the Microsoft event this morning are more exciting:
Twitter (since the phone comes only with built-in Facebook) Netflix, at least on the HD7 on T-Mobile T-Mobile TV that looks similar to MobiTV IMDb movie listings and info Slacker AT&T U-verse Mobile eBay
The EA games Tetris, Sims 3, Monopoly and Need for Speed Undercover.
