We're at the HP Palm event in sunny San Francisco (nice that someplace is having good weather!). There are a few hundred journalists here to cover the event, and as we've already heard, HP will be announcing 3 new devices: the HP Veer (a tiny stone of a phone according to Scobelizer), the Palm Pre 3 (hmm, the Pre 2 had a very short life) and the TouchPad-- a 1.5 lb. webOS tablet.
Most of us are inside now, and the event will start in 20 minutes. Stay tuned for some really cool Palm webOS gear!

The crowd is big here that some people can only get "standing only" space. Interestingly we don't see any Palm phones or HP notebooks in the crowd.
Todd Bradley comes on the stage talking about the history of HP's rich innovations. They are shipping 120 PCs and printers per minute.
HP hired over 100 engineers to work on webOS and connected devices since HP acquired Palm.
The vision for webOS is to use the OS on cross platforms and make devices that think, feel and connect!

Email is integrated between your webOS phones and the TouchPad. It's seamless using Palm's Synergy technology.
TouchPad plays KongFu Panda 2 in Flash smoothly and looks great!
Twitter is integrated and shows off maps, images linked to tweets.
Photo app: integrated with social networking, wireless printing, all within the Photo app
3G gaming: showing off flight shooter in 3D smoothly.
Viewing magazine looks as good as on the iPad. HP partners with Kindle, you can access Kindle libraries on the TouchPad.
Just demo'd video calling, worked smoothly between the Pre 3 and the TouchPad
Using TouchStone technology, the Pre 3 just got the same web page from the TouchPad without connecting via any other way! Wow!
WiFi version the TouchPad will be available in the US and world markets this summer with 3G version to follow.
And of course, there will be TouchPad accessories including a case and keyboard:
Now Dr. Paul Jacobs, Chairman and CEO of Qualcomm is on stage.
Jimmy Lovine, CEO of beats.audio says thanks to the partnership with HP, beats audio is now on 1 million PCs. Music tracks now don't have to down graded to play on PC.
HP will show the new webOS and new devices to 500 developers tonight.
Perhaps the biggest news is that HP will bring the webOS to their PCs and printers, which can easily get onto 100 million machines and devices.
