iPhone Game Review: Kosmo Spin
Reviewed by ninjackid

I'm sure most of us by now have seen a game with a really strange concept on the iDevice, and hopefully the game is both unique and fun. If you are in the mood to discover another fun an unique game on the iPhone and iPod touch, say hello to Kosmo Spin.

Gameplay

In Kosmo Spin by Simogo, it's your job as a cute little guy with a big head, named aptly Nod, to save the planet and rescue the little Breakfast foods that are residing on the planet from the aliens. Sounds fair enough, right? Well, things start getting crazy as the alien aircraft start throwing various sports balls at you and you have to be quick in deflecting the ball with your head before it hits the planet or else Nod is stunned for a short time, and all the while saving the breakfast thingies from the alien's beam.

Controlling the game is as simple as swiping the screen in a circular motion to rotate the planet, and Nod will run in the direction you spin. At first, this may seem hard to get used to, but after a couple of plays you'll be feeling right at home with the controls. And as soon as you get a handle on the control, the gameplay gets hectic.

The game contains a main endless high score mode along where you must try to keep spinning as along as you can without getting hit too many times. Points are earned by saving breakfast thingies, heading sports balls, or if you want some bonus points, you can make sports balls hit other balls or even aim the balls you head back at the UFO for extra points. For the goal and achievement oriented gamers, the game offers a whopping 48 'quests' which are more like tutorial levels (i.e., get so many points in so much time, etc.). This mode is a lot of fun; and it starts out very easy but gets tougher as you progress.

Kosmo Spin is definitely a unique addictive game that an action loving gamer wouldn?t want to miss.

Graphics & Sound

The graphics in Kosmo Spin are great and have a wonderful cartoony feel to them, and fit the game's theme very well. The backgrounds remains the same through each playthrough, but little details floating in space in the background such as spaceships, etc. show how much attention the developers put into each small detail.

The sound too is exceptionally designed, with fun and quirky music and sound effects that fit the games theme very well. The game also supports iPod music.

Conclusion

Kosmo Spin is an extremely fun, addictive and unique arcade title. The gameplay is surprisingly deep and the visual and audio packages are also very nicely done. If you are an action oriented gamer, you should give Kosmo Spin a try!
