It's refresh day at HTC, and they're refreshing the HTC Desire and Wildfire along with the Incredible. The HTC Desire S has a casing that's made from a single piece of aluminum alloy as does the Wildfire S and the HTC Inspire 4G we just reviewed.
The HTC Desire S gets a 1GHz CPU second gen Qualcomm Snapdragon single core CPU, a 3.7" 800 x 480 resolution capacitive display and a 5 megapixel camera that can shoot 720p video.
Other specs of interest include the usual WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 and GPS combo with a G-sensor, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and compass.
The battery is a healthy 1450 mAh and the phone has 768 megs of RAM to keep Android 2.3 and HTC Sense running smoothly.
- The lower end HTC Wildfire S has a 600MHz CPU and a 3.2" HVGA 320 x 480 display. It's also got a unibody design and it runs Android with HTC Sense on 512 megs of RAM with 512 megs of flash storage (expandable via microSD card).
The Wildfire S is a small and cuddly little fella for those of you who don't want a huge phone in your pocket. It has a 5 megapixel camera, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and a GPS. It too runs Android OS 2.3.
Battery capacity is 1230 mAh.
Both the HTC WildFire S and HTC Desire S will be available in Europe and Asia in Q2.
