iPhone Game Preview: Multipods Escalation
Reviewed by Epox

Aztlan Games, a new developer, are finalizing their first app as an iPhone developer. Aztlan Games have made a unique and creative puzzle game that works very well on the iOS gaming system.

Gameplay

When you first open the app you are greeted by a much different and unique menu screen. The menu screen is much more interactive with the user and involves sliding. In Multipods Escalation, you are a pincer that has to collect all the rings and defeat all the enemies to beat the level. The pincer automatically detects the shortest route between the starting and ending point, so you have to think a little before making your move.

To control the pincer, you simply tap on it and to move you just tap on the tile where you want the pincer to move. As you progress through the game, you will see that there are teleporters (which allow you to teleport from place to place), doors (which you have to stand on to open), and enemies (double tap to kill). Remember, to keep an eye for you pincer?s health represented by a green bar hovering over you. There is also fast-forward option for all the pro gamers out there who think they know how to solve the puzzle.

There are 45 jam packed levels and they are extremely fun to play through. However to beat these levels, you will have to apply all that you learned as the levels get trickier and a lot more complex.

Graphics

The graphics are gorgeous and fully support the retina display of the newer devices. The level design varies and special effect are simple yet work really well with the overall theme of the game.

Sound

The music for this game is pretty awesome and has an upbeat loud tone to it. Soundtracks are fun to listen to and gets addicting after awhile. Plus, you get claps every time you beat a level which is really creative. iPod music support will be added for the final release.

Conclusion

Multipods Escalation is a simple game to pick-up, but as you beat more levels and it gets to be harder and requires a little more strategy and thinking. This game can be picked up by any gamer, but only the more clever gamers will be able to beat it.

Ratings:
