Today at the BlackBerry World conference, RIM introduced the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and the Bold 9930 smartphones. This is a new Bold in two variants. With the new devices, RIM also unveiled a new version of the OS, the BlackBerry 7 OS! We will have some hands on pictures of the new Bold smartphones later on today, so stay tuned.
Here is more about the new BlackBerry Smartphones:
The new BlackBerry Bold smartphones run on a 1.2GHz CPU, have Liquid Graphics touch screens, and supports HSPA+ 4G. The new Liquid Graphics touch screen is a key new feature for the new touch screen BlackBerry phones and is a big addition in the BlackBerry 7. According to RIM, Liquid Graphics touch screen delivers fast and smooth performance for touch navigation, web browsing and multimedia, 60fps for UI action/response.
The new platform also supports 4G networks: the Bold 9900 supports HSPA+ and the 9930 supports CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and HSPA+ global roaming on GSM/UMTS.
The new Bold phones have built-in NFC (Near Field Communications), Augmented Reality, and HD Video supporting up to 720p HD video recording and playback.
More about the BlackBerry 7:
The new BlackBerry 7 OS features a new enhanced web browser that includes a new JIT (just in time) JaveScript compiler to improve load time of web pages. It also integrates BlackBerry Balance which separates personal content from corporate content on the smartphone. You can use personal email, Facebook, Twitter accounts and multimedia separated from your business content on the phone, without touching anything on the corporate content side. The new OS version works with BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0.3.
The new BlackBerry Bold will be available beginning this summer!
