Even though Google gave out Samsung Galaxy Tab 10" tablets to Google I/O attendees this week, it seems the Motorola Xoom is the "Nexus" of Android Honeycomb tablets. It's getting the Android OS 3.1 Honeycomb update first, and our 3G Verizon Xoom got the update this morning.
Improvements include resizable home screen widgets, USB peripheral support (if you can find that darned rare USB OTG cable), web browser quick controls, Google Music beta support and Movie rentals are now a part of the Android Market. Own a different Android Honeycomb tablet? Google says the update will make its way to other tablets within a month.
We check out these new features in our video walkthrough and test out Adobe Flash 10.3 playback. Adobe apparently timed the release of Flash Player for Android 10.3 to coincide with the 3.1 OS release, since Adobe recommends OS 3.1 for best results. The new version adds hardware video playback acceleration for OS 3.1 Honeycomb, and the player controls finally work now!
