One of our favorite features of the Barnes and Noble Nook Color eReader is magazine support. We're not talking the boring grayscale mostly text layout that you see in the E-Ink reader versions, but full color magazines with all the photos, advanced layout and ads intact. You can get that with Zinio too, but the Nook Color magazine format is more sophisticated. While Zinio gives you something akin to Adobe Reader on mobile devices with large pages reproduced with zoom-able content, B&N has article view, an easy to use table of contents and more. The only problem? 7" is still too small to easily read a full format magazine without resorting to zoom and article view.
Now you can get the same great magazine experience using Barnes & Noble's just updated Nook app for Android tablets. Everything the Nook Color can do, the Android app on tablets can do too. We check it out using the Motorola Xoom 10" Android Honeycomb tablet in our video walkthrough.
Of course, the Nook app also handles books and newspapers. Most all of the features for book reading on the Nook Color are here in the Android app as well. Sweet!
