What's Hot: High quality material, sturdily built, super protection.
What's Not: Adds quite a bit of bulk and weight.
Of many BlackBerry PlayBook cases we've seen, the Targus Zierra Portfolio case is the most luxurious one. Made with high quality grain leather, the Targus Zierra comes in a traditional billfold portfolio style with a tab slider closure. The BlackBerry PlayBook case can store your tablet securely in a very protective case, and offers bill and card slots, a penholder and comes with a very nice screen cleaner. The Targus Zierra Portfolio for BlackBerry PlayBook comes in two colors: red and black with burgundy interior.
Targus set out to make a super protective case for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet, and they succeeded with the Zierra Portfolio case. The premium leather material is thick and rigid, and it?s fortified even more by hard shell inserts. The BlackBerry PlayBook sits in a four-corner pocket that?s designed to fit the tablet, two of the corners are molded and the other two are flexible leather that allow you to put the PlayBook in or take it out of the case without too much struggle. The two folds that touch the BlackBerry tablet have nice padding on top of very rigid hard inserts and are lined with soft microsuede like material. It will give the PlayBook some cushy padding and definitely won?t scratch the tablet. With billfold style, the screen of the tablet has two layers of protection, each layer has hard inserts, and the back has molded hard shell as well. The case shuts with a tab that slides underneath the closure. When you tuck everything in and shut the case securely, your BlackBerry PlayBook will feel like it?s sitting in a stronghold.
In addition to storing the tablet, the Targus Zierra Portfolio case also gives you two card slots for credit cards, a money bill holder behind the card slots, a see-through mesh business card/ID card holder and a specially designed slot for the included screen cleaner that?s made with microsuede sewn to a leather back and an elastic band. The case also has a pen holder for a pen or a stylus.
The Targus Zierra Portfolio for BlackBerry PlayBook has high quality stitching that holds the thick leather material securely in place. The black leather case has a nice burgundy soft lining. Luxury however doesn?t often come in small packages, and the Targus Zierra Portfolio case is no exception. The case is thick and adds quite a bit of bulk to your tablet and 11.52 oz. weight.
The four-corner pocket design makes the Targus Zierra Portfolio case very functional. All ports, buttons and the front of the tablet are easily accessible when you open the portfolio case. You should have no trouble using any charge/sync cable, headset or any of the top and bottom buttons while the PlayBook is sitting in the case. The screen, front camera and stereo speaker are open for access. The only thing that?s under the corner holders is the left mic. The Targus Zierra Portfolio case has a nice cutout on the back for the rear camera. The cutout has a metal protective ring around the edges to protect the camera, just be sure to push the tablet into the molded corners for the rear camera cutout to center.
The Targus Zierra Portfolio for BlackBerry PlayBook case has one more trick up its sleeve (or cover in this case). The inner fold has a deep track, and you can fold the outer cover back and slide the closure tab into the track to prop up the tablet in a standing position. Your BlackBerry PlayBook will sit in a 45-degree angle in this position for video viewing and video chat. The stand feels steady and secure.
For the BlackBerry PlayBook users who are looking for a professional looking case that?s very protective of the tablet, the Targus Zierra Portfolio fits the bill. The top grain leather speaks class and the hard shell inserts, padding and lining provide super protection for your tablet. The case is very functional with all ports, buttons and cameras accessible, and if you would like to take some essential cards and bills with you, this is one of the very few cases that have build-in slots for the extra cards and a pen. The only thing that this case isn?t is slim. It adds quite a bit of bulk and weight to the tablet for all the protection it provides.
