What looks like an iPad 2 but walks like a robot? The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. This Android Honeycomb 3.1 tablet is as lithe and light as the iPad 2: it's only .34" thin and weighs 1.25 lbs. It's definitely the most attractive Android Honeycomb tablet to date, and the display is downright excellent with deep colors, sharp contrast and plenty of brightness.
This is a WiFi-only 10" tablet with a 1280 x 800 touch screen, front video chat camera, rear 3 megapixel camera with flash, Bluetooth and a GPS. The 16 gig model is $499 and the 32 gig is $599 (same as the Motorola Xoom WiFi). There's no microSD card slot though- bummer.
We've got the retail 16 gig version for review (this is not the pre-release limited Google I/O conference version). The tablet is available with a gloss white back which we have, and a metallic finish gray back.
In our Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 video review we check out the design, ports, multimedia playback, gaming and more. We also compare it with the Motorola Xoom and iPad 2.
