XGear doesn't make a lot of case models, but the ones they do make have their unique designs or functions. The XGear 360 Shield Folio case for the iPad 2 looks deceptively simple but it hides interesting features in many places. The 360 Shield Folio is a clear hard case that has built-in stands and provides strong protection for the entire tablet.
The XGear 360 Shield Folio case for the iPad 2 is made with durable shatterproof polycarbonate clear material that?s tough yet form fitting. The clear case opens like a portfolio with the tablet holder on the right and the display cover on the left. The tablet holder has an interesting design with cutouts that work with the iPad 2 in either right hand or left hand orientation. The case fits the iPad 2 perfectly and it?s easy to put the tablet in the case. Slide the left side into the holder, and clip the right side into two small clips to secure the tablet. The display cover clips onto the two small clips on the outside, and the cover has a slight curve to absorb shocks and protects the display.
The XGear 360 Shield Folio case for the iPad 2 has a rubber clip that not only tie the two pieces of the case together, but it also swings the front cover back to function like a stand. The swing design is ingenious and the motion is very smooth. For the strong protection it provides, the 360 Shield Folio case is quite slim and weighs only 8.4 oz. Your iPad 2 also gets a chance to show its own sleek design in this clear case, and the rubber clip on the XGear 360 Shield Folio provides a good handle to carry the tablet around. Both sides of the case have rubber boots that keep your iPad 2 from sliding on a smooth surface.
The XGear 360 Shield Folio case for the iPad 2 has a clever design. The tablet holder has cutouts that are mirrored on top and bottom so that when you slide your iPad 2 in either right hand or left hand orientation, the cutouts provide openings for the speaker grill, the 30-pin connector, the power button, 3.5mm audio jack and the rear camera equally. The case also has a cutout for the side buttons, and that cutout is also mirrored on the other side.
Another clever design on the XGear 360 Shield Folio case is the ?wing? style cover swing. The rubber clip has a mechanism that can swivel the case cover and fold it back to use as a stand. You can adjust the viewing angle by moving the cover further or closer to the tablet. If you fold the cover complete back, the clip on the case turns into a mini stand, providing yet another viewing angle. Both stands are reasonably steady while holding the tablet up, and both are easy to use.
We?ve seen many iPad 2 cases, but this clear hard case stands out not only because the material but also the design. The XGear 360 Shield Folio case for the iPad 2 provides strong protection for the entire tablet, and it?s slim and light. The case has a very clever design that includes two stands, cutouts for all ports and buttons and will please both right handed and left handed users. The case also looks sleek and easy to use and carry. The polycarbonate is quite durable yet has some flexibility, but with use, you will see some scratch marks.
