What's Hot: Small and light, quality material and well made, GRID-IT is awesome.

What's Not: Needs a top handle.

Cocoon makes a lot of backpacks and bags for laptops, many for Apple laptops. The Cocoon CLS456 13" Sleeve 2 bag is an updated 13" laptop bag that adds an exterior pocket that's large enough to store an iPad or iPad 2. With the Cocoon 13" Sleeve 2 you can carry both a 13" MacBook, MacBook Pro or MacBook Air and an iPad in one bag. The laptop and tablet bag also comes with Cocoon's signature GRID-IT gadget organizer which is removable, and a nicely padded shoulder strap that's detachable. The Cocoon 13" Sleeve 2 bags comes in black and red.

The Cocoon 13? Sleeve 2 bag is well made with sturdy materials and quality stitching. The laptop uses DEFLEXION shock absorbing textile that often used in high performance shoes for impact protection. The bag has three compartments: the main compartment can accommodate any 13? MacBook model, an outer pocket that can store an iPad or iPad 2 and a 3rd compartment which is next to the tablet compartment and it?s for storing your accessories like power adapters, headset, battery charger, pens and more in a unique organizer called GRID-IT.

The bag has padding on the back, in between the laptop and the tablet compartment as well as the front. The back padding is the most robust, and the interior material is water resistant. The laptop compartment also has an extra lip under the zipper, also padded, to protect the top of the laptop from rain or shock. The tablet compartment doesn?t have this feature. The Cocoon 13? Sleeve 2 has There is a layer of neoprene separating the tablet and accessory compartment. Both laptop and tablet compartments have thick padding on the bottom, so that when you put down the bag on a hard surface, it helps absorb shock and protect the laptop and the tablet.

If you have used a Cocoon bag, chances are you?ve already used the GRID-IT organizer as Cocoon includes it with many of their laptop bags. The GRID-IT organizer is a rubberized woven elastic sheet where you can tie your small accessory pieces to the sheet via many elastic bands built-in. The elastic bands come in both landscape and portrait directions and in different lengths so you can store accessories in different shapes and sizes. The GRID-IT is sturdy and has some rubber padding on the back.

The Cocoon 13? Sleeve 2 laptop and tablet bag has an extra pocket on the outside which is convenient for storing things that you need access quickly to, like napkins, boarding passes, etc. And outside of this pocket, the bag has a roller bag strap where you can attach the Cocoon bag to your roller, and an elastic hand strap that makes it easier to hold the bag while accessing the content inside.

The Cocoon laptop bag uses heavy-duty zippers that move smoothly. The bag also comes with a sturdy shoulder strap that?s quite long; and you can certainly wear the bag in a messenger bag style. The shoulder strap has a thick pad that helps lessen the weight of the bag. The shoulder strap is removable, though there isn?t a top bag holder for you to handle the bag with.

The Cocoon 13? Sleeve 2 is specially designed for users who want to carry their 13? notebook and 10.1? tablet in one bag along with a host of accessories. The 13.75 x 3.25 x 9.75-inch bag looks deceivingly small yet it can hold incredible number of gadgets; all thanks to the ingenious design that includes tailored compartments and GRID-IT accessory organizer. We love the GRID-IT organizer and have used it with other bags as well as with the Cocoon 13? Sleeve 2. The bag is well made with top-notch material and good workmanship. We also like the heavy duty shoulder strap and the sturdy strap clips because you can really pack in accessories that add a lot of weight to the bag. The only thing that we miss is a handle on the top of the bag for those times you don?t need the shoulder strap. All in all, if you are looking for a nibble laptop and tablet bag that can store all the essential gear you carry on the road, the Cocoon 13? Sleeve 2 is definitely worth a look.
