Not too long ago, we reviewed the BlackBerry Bold 9930 on Verizon, and today we take a look at its GSM cousin, the BlackBerry Bold 9900 on T-Mobile. The Bold 9900 has 4G HSPA+ for fast data speeds, and BlackBerry OS 7 with support for the Bold's sharp 2.8" VGA capacitive touchscreen.
Beyond the cell radio, the Bold 9900 and 9930 share the same hardware. The 9900 has a 5 megapixel camera, dual band WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth, a GPS and NFC (though NFC is disabled on all US Bolds except Sprint's). The phone will be available Aug. 31 in stores for a pricey $299 with contract. The price, and lack of radical change probably won't encourage new users to jump on this 'Berry. But for you BlackBerry lovers, yes this is the best BlackBerry ever.
The smartphone has a 1.2GHz CPU, 768 mess of RAM, 8 gigs of internal storage and a microSD card slot. Voice quality and reception are top notch, as is the speakerphone. The keyboard is simply the best we've ever used on a smartphone.
