iPhone Game Review: Hector: ep3 - Beyond Reasonable Doom
Reviewed by SpaZtrigger

Hector's back in another adventure to save Clappers Wreake from terrorists. Dressed in a hospital gown, Hector must traverse Clappers Wreake to stop the impending doom of the drug Arsenol.

Like the previous episodes, Hector: ep3 - Beyond Reasonable Doom is a point and click game featuring Hector and his trusty partner Lambert. The story begins with Hector and Lambert trapped in a septic tank with Hector working out a solution to escape while Lambert's cuffed in an bathtub of Dirt. Hector: ep3 - Beyond Reasonable Doom contains a lot of confusing puzzles, so like the other Hector games it has a hint system where in order to get a hint the game tries to stop the player saying "Every time you try to get a hint, a fairy dies.". Luckily for players the game is still very long and it introduces some new characters as well as old ones.

Although Hector: ep3 ? Beyond Reasonable Doom has a lot of dialogue in the game. The story and dialogues are funny and witty; players won't get bored watching or playing the story unfold. Hector episode 3 has more locations than the first and second episodes, making the game feel longer and more enjoyable. For those who have been playing the series, Hector: ep3 ? Beyond Reasonable Doom answered every question raised by the first two games.

Hector: ep3 ? Beyond Reasonable Doom is very fun and enjoyable; and if you played all the games then the third game's puzzles will seem easier. The game has bad lag in a lot of areas, and you can fix it by reboot you iPod touch/iPhone. The Developers came through again in episode 3 for the fans with a nice ending.

Hector: ep3 ? Beyond Reasonable Doom hasn't been updated for retina display but nevertheless the graphics are still good and enjoyable. The graphics and the voices make it feel like it isn't a game but a feature cartoon series and frankly many people I know have mistaken it for just that. The graphics have the special Hector quality that makes it feel like Hector.

The controls work very well and Hector series has never let the player down in the control department and gameplay department. The controls have always been top notch and are very responsive. The trick is to keep it simple: one tap is to look and comment on an item while double tapping is either to skip text or use/pick up an item.

Hector: ep3 ? Beyond Reasonable Doom shines the brightest in the sound department with the quality voice acting and music. As with previous episodes the sound and voice acting in Hector are one of the best we?ve seen in any game. In fact, you might even say it?s gotten better. The music is good reflects the locations nicely and voice acting is very stylish and convincing.

Hector: ep3 ? Beyond Reasonable Doom along with the series is one of the best games I have ever played and it?s a little sad that it?s ended. The moody illustration, the witty dialogues, and interesting albeit sometimes mind boggling puzzles, and excellent voice action make Hector one of the top Point and Click adventure games on iOS period!
