iPhone Game Review: Caveman by Mobile 1 Up
Reviewed by ninjackid

Some of you may remember developers Mobile1Up from last year, as they announced that they would be porting the Classic game, Lemmings to iOS. Well, long story short, that did happen, but what they did make is Caveman, basically a reskin of the classic game.

Gameplay

So if you've ever played Lemmings, you'll know exactly what you're getting yourself into in Caveman. It's essentially the exact same levels and gameplay as Lemmings, but with new updated graphics and music. For those of you who have never heard of Lemmings or never even played it (gasp!) well, it's all about helping your cavemen (in this case) and getting them out of every level safely in a 2D platform setting.

The cavemen drop out of the ceiling (like in Lemmings) and start walking mindlessly as you command them. You have the choice to tap various tools and abilities for the cavemen, and simply tap the caveman you want to use for that purpose. There's a hole in the ground which the cavemen will fall into and have to get over to reach the goal, you just tap the staircase making ability and then tap the cavemen, and he'll start building stairs to walk over the gap. Or perhaps there's a high cliff that your cavemen will walk off and fall to their doom, you can simply tap the umbrella tool and tap each caveman so they have something to break their fall.

Like I said, if you've played Lemmings before, you already know how to play the game. If you're a Lemmings fan, grab this now at only $1.99 for 60 levels (60 more will be added later, as well as the price will increase)

Graphics

The graphics are great in Caveman, have an overall cartoony feel that totally fits the prehistoric theme.

Sound

The music is also quirky and has a great Caveman-ish sound to it, complete with grunts and the cavemen shouting out caveman-ish things. iPod music is also supported, so that's a plus.

Conclusion

Mobile1Up has taken the classic Lemmings and released a reskin of it for the fans of Lemmings, if you loved playing Lemmings on your PC back in the day, or simply wanna try it out, grab this now before the price goes up!
