Sena Cases makes a diverse collection of iPad 2 cases and bags. These cases are made with good quality leather and they offer different carrying solutions for different users. The Magnetic Florence case for the iPad 2 is a slim portfolio style case with a built-in stand. The case fits iPad 2 very nicely, and it adds very little bulk and weighs 8.2 ounces. The case is easy to use and comes with magnetic auto wake/sleep feature.

Design

The Sena Magnetic Florence case has a subtle style and slim profile. The case opens like a book, and the front cover has strong inserts that protect the display when the case is closed, though the back of the case doesn't have stiff inserts in order to keep the case light and slim. As with the Sena WalletSlim case for the iPhone 4S, the Magnetic Florence case uses good quality Napa leather that's been smoothed out. The case looks shiny, and even though it's just as slippery as with the WalletSlim case, the Magnetic case is much easier to handle as it's large.

The Sena Magnetic Florence case for the iPad 2 looks very well made and feels sturdy in hand. The case has rounded corners and very even stitching that also looks quite strong. The interior of the case has soft lining which means you don't need to worry about scratches to the screen when you using this case. The tablet holder is form fitting and has a large Velcro closure tab to secure the tablet inside the holder. We like this design since the case lets you prop up the tablet in standing positions; the Velcro ensures that the iPad 2 won't slide out of the holder.

Features

The Sena Magnetic Florence for iPad 2 case has perfect cutouts for all ports and buttons on the tablet. When the case is brand new, you need to push the tablet into the case completely and secure the Velcro closure. This ensures the cutouts on the case line up with the iPad 2's ports and buttons perfectly. Since the case doesn't have stiff inserts on the back, it tapers with the iPad 2. It has a generous cutout for the 30-pin connector on the bottom to ensure that there is enough space for the adapter to connect to the tablet. The case also has small holes to let sound through the speaker grill. The Sena case has a long cutout on the side, exposing the volume rocker and screen lock button for easy access. The rear camera has a full view thanks to the cutout on the back. The Power button, the top mic and the 3.5mm audio jack on top of the iPad 2 all have separate cutouts that align nicely.

The Magnetic Florence covers considerable amount of space on the front bezel, but it doesn't get in the way of using the touch screen as it leaves out just enough outside of the display. The case has semi-circle cutouts for the Home button and front camera that offer more than enough space for easy access.

The front cover of the Magnetic Florence case allows you to fold it into a built-in stand when working with a leather flap on the back. You can prop up your iPad 2 in either a more straight up angle for media viewing or a more flat angle for typing on the screen using the stand. The stand is reasonably steady in both positions, and the small flap is well attached and has soft lining (like the interior lining) to prevent slipping. The magnetic cover also works like Apple Smart Cover as it automatically wakes up the iPad 2's screen when you open it and puts it to sleep when you close it.

Conclusion

If you are looking for a low profile, slim leather case for your iPad 2, the Sena Magnetic Florence case has plenty to offer. It adds very little bulk to your slim tablet, and it's well made with good quality material. The case comes in four popular leather colors, including black, light brown, dark brown and red, and they all have smooth grain exterior. The case gives you cutouts for all ports and buttons and a built-in stand for two convenient positions to prop up your tablet. It has some serious inserts on the front to protect the display, but not hard inserts on the back to keep the case slim. It should protect your iPad 2 from scratches, bumps and minor shocks.
