What's Hot: Retractable Apple dock connector and cleverly hidden mini-USB cable. Charges two devices at the same time. Compact. Compatible with Powermat wireless charging stations.
What's Not: Dock connector is flush with the battery housing so you'll have to remove most cases to use it. List price is expensive.

The Powermat Dual 1850 is a compact (2.5" x 2.5" x 0.5") 1850mAh backup battery for iOS devices and devices that charge via a micro USB port.
Features and Quality
The Powermat 1850 charges quickly via an included USB cable or a Powermat wireless charging station (not included). Once charged, it carries enough juice to completely revive a dead iPhone or similar device. It can even charge two devices at once as long as each device uses a different charging interface (Apple dock connector and micro USB). The spring-loaded dock connector retracts for protection while it bangs around in your purse/briefcase/backpack, while the micro USB cable is permanently attached on one end and nestles almost invisibly into a groove around one of the battery's edges. This is a fantastic feature for anybody who has ever lost one of these cables and was forced to resort to harsh language to initiate the charging process.
My only real complaint about the device is due to its dock connector design; it protrudes just enough to connect with a naked iDevice, which means that if you use any kind of a case at all, you're going to need to remove it to use the Powermat Dual 1850.
The Powermat Dual 1850 is a thoughtfully designed backup battery for most of your charging needs. While its list price is a bit expensive (shop around) and the dock connector is maddeningly stubby, the ability to charge two devices at once without packing any additional cabling is welcome, indeed.
