The CitySlicker MacBook Air Case from Waterfield Designs has a very unique mix of materials that make the case look interesting while providing solid protection for the notebook. The case features a sturdy ballistic nylon exterior with thick padding and soft lining to keep the MacBook Air safe, and stretchy accessory pockets as well as a dual-layer leather cover flap that comes in four color options: black, chocolate, grizzly and camel. Though the CitySlicker case is designed for the MacBook Air, we tested it with several other PC notebooks and provided some images for you.

Waterfield Desgins has made some sturdy nylon cases like the MacBook Air Travel Express Case and stylish leather bags such as the The Indy Bag for iPad. And now the new CitySlicker bag takes the ballistic nylon that's sturdy, water resistant and scratch/slash resistant and use it as the exterior to help protect the notebook; and the attractive distressed leather as the over-sized bag cover that provides not only some additional protection but also jazzes up the look of the bag. The CitySlicker Case is very well built and deceptively thick and ultra protective. In addition to the heavy duty nylon exterior, the Waterfield case has a layer of impact-resistant plastic insert and a thick and plush layer of soft microfiber lining.

The CitySlicker case has storage pockets made with stretchy neoprene that's thin and flexible. The front pockets are compartmentalized, and you can store at least 2 smartphones, a mouse, pens or cables. And the back long pocket is big enough for the charging adapter and cable for your notebooks as well as some papers or magazines. The leather flap closes the bag securely via two heavy duty snaps. The bare-minimum version doesn't come with a handle for the front flap, but you can select a bunch add-ons depending on how you wish to carry your notebook. The add-ons include D-ring option, simple strap and suspension strap in addition to the carrying handle. Each add-on carriers additional cost.

With the MacBook Air 13":

While the Waterfield Designs CitySlicker case is built for the MacBook Air, it fits most ultrabooks that are slim enough. We tested the 13" CitySlicker bag with the Sony VAIO T 13" Ultrabook, the Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook as well as Ultrabooks from Lenovo in addition to the MackBook Air 13". The notebook compartment is snuggly fit which prevents your laptop shaking or flapping inside of the bag. The front pockets should be able to store accessories such as adapters, cables, mice, hard drivers and your smartphone. The front flap is well designed not only to hide the accessories in these pockets from view, but it also protects them thanks to the two layer of soft leather. The back pocket has a long self-locking zipper that shuts the pocket securely.

With the Sony VAIO T Series Ultrabook:

The Waterfield Designs CitySlicker case comes in both 11" and 13" sizes. The extra add-ons are also well made. The bag handle ($10) matches the exterior leather flap and it's securely sawn to the flap. The D-rings ($5) attach to ballistic nylon clips that are tightly sawn to the back of the bag. You can get the D-rings by themselves if you already have a shoulder strap, but if you don't, you can get the D-rings with Simple Strap for $12 or with the Suspension Should Strap for $22.

With the Samsung Series 7 Slate, iPhone 4S and HTC EVO 4G LTE:

Strong yet stylish, the Waterfield Designs CitySlicker MacBook Air Case is an ideal carrying bag for taking your 13" MacBook Air or Ultrabook notebook with you to meetings or around town. The case is very protective against shock, bump and scratch damages and it has enough extra pockets to take necessary accessories and your phone with you as well. The material is very durable, designed to last for a long time. The bag looks metro chic and offers several add-ons for your carrying needs. For all the protection it provides, the bag isn't light; it adds 1 lb. and 3.6 oz. to your ultra-light notebook.

Price: $129 for 11" CityClicker Case; $139 for 13" CitySlicker Case
