Kindle Fire Case Review: Proporta Kindle Fire Leather Style Protective Cover Review

Editor's Ratings (1-5): 3.5

What's Hot: Soft, protective and easy to use.

What's Not: Would love to see more colors, no built-in stand, the cover is a bit loose.

The Amazon Kindle Fire Leather Style Protective Cover from Proporta is a simple yet very effective case. The soft faux leather case feels very nice in hand, it's form fitting for the Kindle Fire and it's slim and super lightweight. The case is easy to use and comes with lifetime warranty. It currently only comes in black.

Design

The Proporta Kindle Fire Cover adds little bulk and weight to the tablet. The case holds the Kindle Fire with four tight elastic strips securely. Both the front and back covers have soft touch faux leather exterior and a layer of soft padding. The interior has soft felt lining that won't scratch your tablet. The covers have stiff inserts that are not thick but rigid. The case can certainly protect your Kindle Fire from scratches, pokes and bumps, even some shock damage as the case is larger than the tablet and the rigid inserts can withstand some shock. The grey interior matches the black exterior well, and the case has a small Proporta branding engraved on the bottom of the back cover.

While the elastic bands hold the tablet in place securely to the form fitting back cover, the front cover is a little loose. The spine of the case doesn't have any insert and has more spare space, this causes the front cover move around a little without an closure tab or magnet to keep it in place. This isn't an issue if you don't put the Kindle Fire in your bag or backpack, as the front cover might get moved about by other items in your bag.

Features

The case is easy to use. Just slide the Kindle Fire into the elastic bands, it's ready to go. Since the bands holding the tablet cover so little of the Kindle Fire, you have access to everything on the bottom since the audio jack, syncing/charging port and power button all live down there. The top two elastic straps do block the view of the top speakers, but they don't block the sound too much as they are not completely covering the speakers.

Conclusion

If you are mainly using your Kindle Fire indoors, the Amazon Kindle Fire Cover Leather Style Protective Case from Proporta is a good choice. It's slim and light, and very easy to use. It's not very rugged but it's protective enough against bumps and nicks when you are reading at home or on a train with this case. It also carries an affordable price and a lifetime warranty. The case's spine has too much room which leads to the front cover not shutting properly.
