As if the 1080p IPS display on the Zenbook Prime UX31A didn't push the envelope enough, Asus has let loose the Zenbook Prime UX32VD, a near dead ringer for the UX31A but with added goodies: switchable Nvidia GT620M dedicated graphics and upgradable RAM and hard drive. The 13.3" Zenbook Prime UX32VD has an impressive 1920 x 1080 IPS display, a backlit keyboard, a third generation Core i7 ULV CPU and a killer unibody aluminum design. Is the UX32VD a better choice than the UX31A? Read our review to find out.

A warning to buyers of this unit: they are very scarce. I found one Canadian company, with an US branch - http://us.ncix.com/ - which had it in stock. They shipped it right away, but it turns out that the UX32VD-DB71 they have includes only 2GB RAM!! I verified it with Asus - they ships units with 2GB RAM. Also after carefull inspection of the box it did indicate 2GB only in this machine.
On a related issue, I posted a thread " Asus UX32VD memory upgrade" found here: http://www.mobiletechreview.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=43152&an=0&page=0#Post43152

Wow, that's pretty darned sneaky of NCIX Thanks for the warning. It should really have a different model number after the hyphen if the config is different.

I think it was sloppiness, not malice.

In all fairness I would like to follow up on the issue I reported above with http://us.ncix.com/ It turns out that the vendor did ship the unit with 4GB RAM. There was something wrong with the machine and Asus replaced the motherboard. It's on the way back to me.

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear the merchant was honest, but so much for Asus' quality control.
