Lenovo's chock full of Windows 8 tablet announcements today, and this is the first we've heard of the IdeaTab Lynx moniker. The Lynx is a 11.6" Windows 8 tablet running on the 1.8GHz Intel ATOM z2760 dual core CPU. This is full Windows 8 (not RT) and it has a 1366 x 768 IPS display with an impressive 400 nits brightness and 5 point capacitive multi-touch.
The tablet weighs 1.4 lbs. (the same range as an Android tablet or iPad) and it has WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and a front camera. Battery life should be good thanks to a 6800 mAh battery, and the tablet has a 2MP front webcam, 2 gigs of RAM and 32 or 64 gigs of storage. Since Windows 8 runs well on less than cutting edge CPUs, the Lynx may well be a decent performer, but we'd advise you go with 64 gigs of storage because 32 is just too small these days.
The tablet will have micro everthing: micro USB, microSD card slot and micro HDMI. The optional dock adds two USB 2.0 ports and a combo audio jack complimenting built-in stereo speakers.
You can turn the IdeaTab Lynx into a full functioning Windows 8 PC that switches automatically to the standard desktop UI with an optional detachable keyboard dock. The simple docking mechanism can easily attach the full "Accutype" keyboard with ease. When connected to the dock, two USB 2.0 ports allow users to connect all their regular PC accessories including printers, hard drives, memory sticks and other accessories.
