Beginning April 10, ATT customers with a Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket will be able to download the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for their smartphones. More info:
Jelly Bean makes your smartphone easier to use through several enhancements, including changes to the notification display that groups updates from the same application together, and allows you to expand or collapse notifications. Customers will also be able to view the full text of an SMS message and the full photo of a MMS in the notification window.
This software update will make several premium and intuitive Galaxy S III features available to Galaxy S II Skyrocket users:
-Smart Stay: Tracks eye movement to ensure the device screen is always on while it's viewed so the backlight doesn't dim or become idle -Direct Call: Converts text message interface to the voice call interface by simply raising the phone to the ear -Pop Up Play: Allows users to watch video content while operating any application at the same time -Jelly Bean also gives customers access to Google Now, which provides customizable updates on information such as weather, traffic, and sports scores. Also a part of the Jelly Bean update is AT&T Locker, which securely stores photos, videos and documents in the cloud that can be accessed from a smartphone or computer.
Additionally, along with the Jelly Bean update Skyrocket customers will gain access to AT&T DriveMode, an app designed to limit texting while driving. DriveMode can be set up to automatically reply to incoming texts, emails, and wireless callers once your car reaches 25 mph, letting friends and family know that you are driving and unable to respond.
