The long anticipated ThinkPad Helix offers a rare combo: Intel Core CPUs, strong battery life when docked, a Wacom digitizer with precise digital pen, and an excellent keyboard. The Helix works equally well as a tablet and Ultrabook thanks to the bundled dock that looks and feels more like a laptop base than an accessory. The 11.6" tablet has a full HD IPS display that's very bright, a pressure sensitive pen for art and note taking, and a battery in the tablet and dock. You can get it with up to 8 gigs of RAM and it uses SSD storage exclusively. It's available with Intel Core i5 and i7 CPUs, but the disappointing news is that they're Ivy Bridge rather than the new Haswell. The price of admission is anything but cheap, though Lenovo's web sales can soften the steep pricing.
