Rockchip's RK3188 SoC powers Giayee 3G Android tablet, phone call supported
      #44978 - 07/15/13 09:34 PM

The Rockchip RK3188 quad-core processor is shaping up to be one of the most common chips found in Android tablets, PCs-on-a-stick and set-top boxes. Indeed, we've already seen the chip turn up under the hood of the Cube U30GT2 tablet and a few Android TV sticks.

Another new tablet powered by Rockchip's RK3188 tipped up today, from a Chinese OEM and ODM company - Giayee Technology Co., Ltd. Sales price for 5K qty around $160 (3G version, Wifi version would be only $140), accoriding to my discussion with giayee. It is probably also worth noting that the tablet should perform quite well, as benchmarks indicate the Rockchip RK3188 is one of the top performing processors for Android tablets on the market today. The processor operates at 1.6 GHz and is paired with ARM Mali 400 graphics.

Key features:
- Rockchip RK3188 Quad core A9 + Android 4.2
- 10.1" IPS display 1280x800 + Capacitive Multi-touch
- Built-in WCDMA/EVDO 3G module, support phone call
- 7200mAh large battery
- GPS, WIFI, G-sensor, Bluetooth

It also support customized design according to customers requirement, but for large qty only. Such as: DDR updated to 2G, Flash updated to 16G/32G, Also can have some features removed for cost down.
