Booq's new naming convention for their products landed in the snake land, and the Boa bags usually come in larger forms in its line of bags and carrying cases. The Booq Boa Squeeze is one of the two backpacks carrying the Boa designation and is the smaller one of the pair, but its clever design enables you to carry most if not all of your tech gear for daily use or on trips. The Boa Squeeze is very well made and super easy and comfortable to carry. It fits 13" and 15" notebooks and it comes in black.

Design

The Booq Boa Squeeze Backpack has a distinct shape that contours to your back and creates a small "hump" on your back. The laptop backpack is made with ultra sturdy material. The black exterior is made with 1680D ballistic nylon that has water repellent coating and the dual colored interior is made with 420D ripstop polyester lining. The interior material is also water repellent, so if you need to run to a subway station or a cab in the rain, your gear should be protected by the backpack. The two side outer pockets use non-scrtach neoprene and all compartments have soft padding.

The Booq Boa Squeeze Backpack offers creature of comfort features. The back of the backpack has airmesh padding that rests against your back but doesn't put any pressure on your spine. The heavy-duty shoulder straps also have airmesh padding and they're curved to rest on your shoulders following the natural lines of your shoulders and arms. The adjustable shoulder straps distribute the weight of your backpack nicely and they won't pinch on a single spot on your shoulder to stress it with all the weight.

The Booq Boa Squeeze Backpack is top loading and has heavy-duty YKK zippers that operate smoothly yet don't add unnecessary weight to the bag. The Boa Squeeze has sturdy machine stitching that holds everything together securely. The bag has net weight of 2.2 lbs.

Features

The Booq Boa Squeeze Backpack offers plenty of compartments to store all your tech gear for your daily use at work or school or going on trips or vacation. The main laptop compartment can store a notebook up to 15". We tested several 15" notebooks including the MacBook Pro, two generations of HP ENVY 15 and more. All notebook fit in the pocket fine but the first gen HP ENVY 15 which is thicker than the newer models fit snuggly. Thicker than that, your notebook might not fit in the laptop compartment. The pockets on the front tiers of the laptop compartment can store a paper notebook, a pen, a mouse and a thin tablet. Our iPad 4 fit in the tablet pocket snuggly.

The Booq Boa Squeeze Backpack utilizes the front cover to store an additional tablet or ebook reader and other smaller gadgets as it has padding to protect your gear. It has a zipped compartment and a neoprene one. The space between the back compartments and the front cover allows you to store plenty of personal items including a water bottle, accessories, wallet/purse and more.

With the main compartment closed, the Booq Boa Squeeze Backpack offers four pockets for gear you need access without opening the bag. Two side pockets are large enough for smaller ebook readers, digicams, and more. One of the pockets also offers a key fob. You'll find a zippered pocket on the top of the bag that's big enough for your smartphone and a front zippered pocket that's slim which is good for your boarding pass, your itinerary printout for easy access.

Conclusion

The Booq Boa Squeeze Backpack strikes a balance between function and weight. It's very well designed to fit on your back and shoulders with distributed weight, and it's made with good material. The bag offers enough space for all your essential tech gadgets yet it's nimble. We like the water repellent feature and it comes with Terralinq tag that can help you reunite with your bag via the Lost and Found Serial Number. If you have a small and thin notebook along with a full range of tech gear, the Booq Boa Squeeze Backpack offers one of the best carrying solutions. Just be aware that the laptop compartment works with most modern and relatively thin notebooks.
