If you wear a gray suit to work, the Booq Viper courier comes in a stylish that matches well with your suit fabric and color. Markedly designed for urban professionals who dress in business suits and need to carry their laptop, tablet, smartphone and other essentials to work or meetings, the Booq Viper courier offers just the right balance between storing your daily gear and keeping the carrying bag slim and sleek. As with other Booq bags, you get a sturdily built bag with quality material. It's comfortable to wear and comes in gray only in two sizes that fit either a 13" or a 15" Mac or PC laptop.

Design

The Booq Viper courier bag achieves both understated look yet eye catching at the same time. The exterior fabric is water-repelling and organically dyed and made look like material that you can make jackets or suits with. The interior has nylon lining that covers the padding. The laptop compartment has soft microfiber like lining that provides extra cushion to protect your notebook's surface from scratches. The interior padding is softer foam but the front of the bag has stronger and stiffer insert that protects the bag in case you bang it against hard surface. The hard insert also has ridges to absorb additional shock should the bag tip and land on a hard surface.

If the gentleman suit exterior hasn't caught your full attention, the Booq Viper courier adds another surprising element in design: the shoulder strap is made with seatbelt material. The shoulder pad has a snap-on cover in the same exterior material as the bag. The seatbelt shoulder strap is very flexible and extremely durable, and it adds more sleekness to the overall look of the Booq Viper courier. It's also designed so that you can easily install it or remove it depending on your preferred method of carrying the bag. The buckles that connect the shoulder strap with the bag are made with sturdy metal. Should you carry the bag without the shoulder strap, the Booq Viper courier offers sturdy handles that you can tuck away when they're not in use. The handles have padding that makes them comfortable in hand.

As with other Booq bags, the Booq Viper courier uses YKK zipper that's high performance and has smooth action. The stitching looks and feels strong. The Booq Viper courier has a slim profile and weighs 1.5 lbs.

Features

The Booq Viper courier is designed for you to carry your daily gear to work or to meetings. It includes a laptop compartment that can take either 13" or 15" notebook depending on the size you get. We tested Mac laptops including the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro, and found they all fit in the compartment nicely. We also tested PC laptops including the Sony VAIO Pro 13, the VAIO Duo 13 and the Lenovo IdeaPad U310, and they all fit in the compartment fine. If you have a very bulky notebook though, the space might get very tight or might not fit, but most modern notebooks should fit in just fine. The compartment doesn't have extra length either, so a 14" notebook won't fit in the 13" Viper courier and likewise, a 16" notebook won't fit in the Viper courier 15 either.

In front of the notebook compartment, the Viper courier offers a tablet slot that can store an iPad or another 10" tablet. The tablet pocket is also tight fit but most slim 10" Android or Windows tablet should fit. The front half shell of the Viper courier has a zippered pocket where you can store chargers, cables, headset or paperwork. The space between the two half shells of the bag isn't that big, but you can keep a slim hard drive, some files along with 2 pens and the bag comes with a key fob in this space.

On the outside, the Viper courier offers a long slot on the back where you can hide the back handle and store magazine sized paper and in the front the bag has two pockets that can store your smartphone, a mouse or a hard drive. There's some space in front of the two pockets on the front where you can hide your wallet or other items in that size. As with other Booq bags, the Viper courier comes with a Terralinq tag that can help find your bag should you lose it and someone returns it to lost and found.

Conclusion

The Booq Viper courier is certainly a unique looking laptop top. It's slim and light and very comfortable to carry. The bag is intelligently designed to store all your essential gear for a day at work and manages to stand out with a minimalistic design. The color and the fabric might not appeal to everyone, but those who dress in suits for work or meetings this bag will certain fit well with your style. We like the water-repellent fabric and the sturdy built.
