For the first time ever, instead of simply discounting older models, Apple has announced the iPhone 5C, a lower-priced iPhone. The iPhone 5C is available in gree, white, blue, red, and yellow. The front of the iPhone 5C is all glass with no seams, and the structure consists of a steel frame within a plastic body. Custom rubber cases will be available along with $29 interchangeable covers.
The iPhone 5C uses an A6 processor and a slightly larger battery than the iPhone 5. It also features the same camera as the iPhone 5 and a new FaceTime HD camera with better low light features, along with more LTE bands than any other phone in the world.
The iPhone 5C is expected to cost $99 for the 16 GB model or $199 for the 32 GB model (prices are with two-year contract). Apple will start taking pre-orders September 13, and the iPhone 5C is expected to ship on September 20th.
