The Yoga phenomenon is catching inside Lenovo: we've seen new Yoga convertible Windows Ultrabooks, its cousin the Flex and now a Yoga Android tablet. Actually that's two tablets since the Lenovo Yoga Tablet will be available in 8 and 10 inch versions. Both run on a MediaTek quad core 1.2GHz CPU with a gig of RAM and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
The Yoga tablets have IPS displays for wide viewing angles, but the resolution is decidedly middling at 1280 x 800. The Yoga reminds us a little of Sony's attempt to mimic a folded magazine with their Tablet S. The Yoga Tablet has a cylindrical battery that also functions as the swiveling stand that allows you to use the tablet in a propped up mode on the tablet or standing up. Likely you won't buy an accessory stand for the Yoga.
The 8 inch model will sell for $249 and the 10 inch model will cost $299; reasonable prices for mid-spec hardware with an elegant and ergonomic design twist. They'll go on sale Oct. 30 in the US and you can find it at Best Buy, Fry's and Amazon among other places. Lenovo will also offer a $69 Lenovo Yoga 10 Bluetooth Keyboard Cover on the same date.
Yes, we'll review them!
