Intel HD 5000
      #46514 - 05/30/14 07:23 AM

Hi,
What is a difference between graphics Intel HD 4400 and HD 5000? And how it affects gaming? What games can I play with Intel HD 5000?
Thank you,

Max

The HD5000 is a faster version of Intel integrated graphics. It's about 10-15% faster than HD4400, so it won't give you a huge leap in games (when speaking of the laptop version). It will help with those games that are playing at 25 fps on HD4400 make the jump to what's considered a more pleasant 30 to 35 fps.

Lisa, thank you for such quick response. In your opinion, is it worth paying another $50 - $100 for Dell XPS 12 with slightly beefed up processor (Core i7-4650U) and HD 5000 graphics if I'd like to very casually play a few games? Although, mostly I'll be using the computer for playing and a bit editing multimedia files and studying.

Thank you in advance,
Max

That's not much of a price increase, so I'd say it's definitely worth it.
