I'm looking around for a TPM equipped Ultrabook. Whilst I want TPM, it will not be a pure business machine. It will be my personal machine so good screen and audio will be valuable for multimedia. Also, I really want the machine to be very lightweight (I'm calling very lightweight less than 1.6kg).
I'm not considering anything smaller than 13.3" I think I know of the main options at 13.3" (Dell XPS 13 and Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus top of my list at this size)
But I don't feel I know of all the options at 14" Due to my desire for the machine to be very light, I probably rule out quite a lot of options.
I am aware of *ThinkPad X1 Carbon (1.35 kg). If money were no object, I think I would just buy this. But it is, hence considering other options *ThinkPad T440s (1.58 kg) *Acer TravelMate P645 (1.5 kg) *HP EliteBook Folio 1040 (1.49 kg). Like X1 Carbon, this is probably a bit expensive for me. *HP EliteBook Folio 840 (1.58 kg)
Dell Latitude E6440 is a bit heavy at 2.12 kg
Any other lightweight option I should consider at 14"? Aside from X1 Carbon & EliteBook 1040, what would you suggest as the best 14" machine given my needs?
Toshiba has a new 14" Tecra Z40 business laptop as of June/July 2014 with a TMP equipped chip plus i7, SSD, etc. It isn't cheap but it looks very nice. Not sure about the keyboard and touchpad quality though.
