Recommendation for smaller tablet with 5 mp camera or more
      #47167 - 10/19/14 08:29 PM

Greetings,

I ended up buying a Ipad Mini retina and like it but it won't fit in my pocket. I would like to buy an android tablet that is just a little smaller (not much) that would fit in my pocket and have a decent camera. I really like the Samsung Tab S4 8.4 but can't remember if it fit in my pocket.

Is it bad to have two or more tablets?

Any recommendations are highly appreciated.

Smorton

Is it bad to have more than one tablet? You're asking the wrong person But seriously, given how different iOS and Android are, it's not a bad thing to have one of each since they each offer different strengths. Go try out the Tab S and see if it fits in your pocket. If it doesn't, then a 7" tablet might be a literal better fit-- maybe the Nexus 7 before it's discontinued.

The Nexus 7 seems to have a 2mp camera. I wonder if I am looking at a different model.

Thanks

The current generation Nexus 7 has a 5MP rear camera and a front 1.2MP camera: http://www.mobiletechreview.com/tablets/2013-Nexus-7.htm

Thanks for clarifying that. Now I am thinking of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 - Size: 8.37 x 4.94 x 0.26 inches. Weight: 10.37 ounces.

Is there any case that is made to carry something like that that would not look strange. On trips there is something where you wear a pouch type thing. I suppose I could try to google around for something.

One thing that bothers me about the Nexus 7 is the lack of adding memory.

Thanks for the input.

Smorton

Samsung's book cover is slim and I don't think it looks strange (through strange may be in the eye of the beholder). It's not a pouch though, it's a flip cover similar to Apple's smart covers.

How would a Dell Venue 7 Tablet Black be for the above state purposes? It is quite reasonable.

Thanks for any input.

We haven't reviewed that one, so I can't say much. I'm not generally fond of Intel Atom CPUs in Android though, the performance always seems to lag for no apparent reason.

I am not big on lag. Maybe jet lag.

Thanks. The Nexus 7 is looking better.
