I have a handspring prism that I almost never use because it's too heavy for a shirt pocket and not that easy to record notes on. is it possible to dictate to a pda?

All Pocket PCs and several Palm OS models from Sony and Palm have voice recorders so you can dictate and save it as an audio file.

The Toshiba e405 and e805 come with software that allow you to issue voice commands for common tasks. MS Voice Command (reviewed on our site) also allows you to do voice commands. However, neither of these options offers speech to text capabilities.
