Like all Palm OS PDAs, there is a battery status indicator on screen, so you'll always be able to check the battery level. What the reviews meant is that it doesn't have an LED light that tells you the unit is charging (many other PDAs do have such an LED).

Battery life is pretty good on the 72, but how many hours you get will depend on what you're using it for. Playing MP3s with RealPlayer shouldn't kill the battery fast, and you'd probably notice music coming from the Zire and turn off the player

You might have turned the'On cradle' off but Is your Zire 72 in a cover case? Where do you usually keep it? In your Bag? Check whether the cover case keeps pressing the buttons..That also cause the loss of power...

You can buy any brand and capacity SD card you wish, it doesn't have to be the PalmOne branded card.

Sounds like it might be defective.

Hello!

I experienced the same behavior from the ZIRE 72 I bought the other day. The screen returns to normal when I turn it off and on again. Is this normal behavior for the ZIRE?
Should I get this unit replaced?

In any case, I already brought this up with the store vendor and they asked me to do a soft reset but that didn't helped. I was advised to observe the unit for another 2 days and if happens again they would replace it.

Does anyone here have the same experience as ours? Could this be a batch defect? I would like as much as possible to know so I could avoid those batches that have this defect.

Thanks and best regards!
