Looking for pocket pc which can use a verizon air card, or better access.

Newbie at this, so I may be missing the obvious or going about this the wrong way. Ok, looking at the Ipaq 555X series, or any pocket pc model that can use the verizon air cards that fit into a PCMCIA slot from what I am told. The goal for me is to be able to use the verizon network on the road, access the internet and not have to deal with a wired connection to my phone. I believe that I need the expansion card to accommodate this card. I do not want to get a pda phone. Please help me answer a few things:

Is there an easier way to do this, and less costly?
Should I just wire it to the phone and forget about using the card?
Just want to come up with a way to get fast unencumbered internet access on the road.
Any help appreciated

The easiest way might be using a convergent device:

Verizon offers: Treo 600, Kyocera 7135, Samsung i600 and i700.

Thank you. My original idea was not to use a convergent device, but the more I look at it, the more logical it seems. Just wanted two separate devices at first.

No problem. The nice about having a convergent device is that you only need to keep one mobile database vs. two. Some of these new smartphones have some nice built-in features such as camera, full phone features (voice dialing, photo contact records, ringtones, etc.) and PDA features which really make them good replacement for two devices.
