Not unless they have a version that's compiled for the Windows Mobile 2003 OS.

Just use any sound editing software on your PC that can edit WAV files. Copy the WAV file you want to make lounder and use the desktop app to amplify it. Then copy it back to your iPAQ. Ringtones are in the Rings folder inside the Windows folder on your iPAQ and system alarms are in the Windows folder.

SD cards use very little power when the unit is running, and almost none when the iPAQ is turned off. Cards of various capacities use pretty much the same amount of power.

Hi there!

First of all, Love your review!

I would LOVE to change to the Ipaq 6315 to unite my phone and PocPC ..
but I am concerned about the horse power...

One of my main usage for the device, is watching DivX encoded 320x240 .avi files of TV shows.
(would LOVE the ability to watch TV with my BT headset as sound on the subway : )

I'm currently using the IPAQ 1910 overclocked to 300Mhz,
and with BetaPlayer (which I find to be faster than PocketMVP for playing DivX),
and it looks OK, quite fast, bit rates i use are about 300-400kbps.

I am very concerned that the 168Mhz CPU will not be handle the playback ...

Do you have any advice?
(or a ipaq 1910 o/c 300Mhz with a divx .avi to test with? : )

Thx!
-Kor

I play movies encoded at a similar bitrate using BetaPlayer on the 6315 and it handles them well. I wouldn't go any higher, but those bitrates are fine.

Actually it's quad band- you can't have too many bands .

Here in the US, almost all mobile phones are sold provider locked *sigh*. T-Mobile however is quite nice and after you've had service with them for 3 or 4 months, you can call them up (dial 611 from your mobile phone) and ask for the unlock code. Just tell them you'll be vacationing to Australia and need to use a different SIM when overseas. They'll email you the unlock code.

I don't know of any camcoder software available for separate purchase. I would guess the camera in the 6315 is physically capable of shooting video, but the iPAQ's processor might not be fast enough to do a great job of it.

Hi Lisa,

I have a couple of questions regarding the ipaq 6315?.You seem to be really knowledgable about it.

I currently own it. I have be a Palm freak for a long time, currently with the T3.

I really like the windows based unit and I have been through several Bluetooth headsets so far. Which do you recommend that will be the best for outgoing voice quality especially volume?

I have already returned these products.

The Jabra FreeSpeak 250 - cuts out, low outgoing on landline & mobile phones. Bad range.
Motorola HS 820 - good distance, also low outgoing

I have read all the reviews on bluetooth headsets and the 2 I have narrowed it down to based on the site are the Bluetrek G2 and the Plantronics M3500.

I tend to lean towards Plantronics based on there headset history. If price were not an issue what would you recommend?

Bryan L

For me, the Bluetrek G2 worked very well with the 6315.

Did you ever use the Plantronics?

Also, can you allocate part of your SD card toward RAM on the 6315?
