PDABuyersGuide is not epinions.com or amazon. We have different functions and that's why both types of websites co-exist. If there were factory defects, we point them out in our reviews. I'm happy to report that none of the PDAs we use has failed including an old refurbed Visor Deluxe that we've had for 2 years .

Sorry to hear you had such troubles with your Treo 180. In general, it's a reliable device not famous for failures, and ours held up quite well. While no one likes the tech support folks at most high tech companies, Handspring rates about middle of the pack, though the hold times can be long. Generally no PDA manufacturer will replace a broken screen free of charge because they consider this accidental breakage and not a warranty issue. They also don't cover PDAs that go for a swim, as happened to the original poster.
Of course durability and service are important to us, but there is no widespread issue with the Treo 180. But as with all products, there will be a few bad apples that make it off the assembly line and it sounds like you got one.
