iPAQ6315 Keyboard

Is there a way to keep the keyboard 'shift-locked'? Trying to use the keyboard to dial a phone call becomes a two handed operation. Not a good thing while in motion. Using the display phone keyboard is akward if you don't hit the display with a 'hard' fingernail.

There is a lock shift key just above the blue button in the lower left corner of the thumb keyboard.
