Tungsten T3 - Real Player and other languages
      #19394 - 02/28/05 11:19 PM

Just noticed something that is a little odd.

I have some mp3 files that include artist and track information in other languages (Chinese and Korean), and although I copy the files into the "Audio" folder on my SD card, Realone will not recognize such files at all.

I've experimented a little; if I replace all of the file's information with English information, then Realone recognizes the file without any problems.

I'd rather not have to change the song / track informtion for each file just so that it works on my Palm, so what I'm wondering is:

Is there any way to adapt/help Realone recognize information from other character sets?

Just wondering,

- Dan

I'm no language expert, but I believe that oriental languages use 2-byte characters and Roman characters use 1-byte characters. It may be that the English version of RealPlayer cannot detect or compensate for the 2-byte character coding as many other apps can.
