Connecting Mio168 to PC?
      #20721 - 07/31/05 05:02 AM

Hi all! I recently bought a Mio 168 Pocket Pc DigiWalker and I'm a little confused, so hopefully someone might help me here.

What I'm trying to do is connect the Mio to my desktop PC, using the USB cable provided. I have Windows XP on my desktop PC. Windows recognize a new USB connection and all, but then they ask for the drivers and there's no such disc accompanying the Mio Pocket Pc. Are there certain drivers available on the internet or a software to help Windows identify it?

I try using ActiveSync from Mio, but of course since the desktop PC won't recognize what's connected to the usb, they won't connect.

Any ideas? Any help would be much appreciated.

P.S. I tried using the infrared connection as well with my laptop, but no big results there either. But that must be my laptop's problem.

ActiveSync, MS Outlook and the required drivers should be on the CD that comes with the Mio. Did you not receive any software CDs with the Mio 168?

If you do have the software CD, you should install ActiveSync first, then connect the Mio, otherwise Windows might get confused about the proper driver. Once you've installed ActiveSync, you might try plugging the Mio into a different USB port, as Windows generally loads a driver fresh for each USB port.
