Averatec continues to expand its line of full-featured ultra-thin, ultralight notebooks with the introduction of the 12-inch widescreen 2200 Series.
Powered by AMD Turion 64 mobile technology, the streamlined, 1-inch-thin 2200 Series notebook is powerful yet weighs in at only four pounds, making it ideal for mobile users needing robust on-the-go computing productivity. Its vivid, 12.1-inch widescreen WXGA LCD display features Averatec's distinctive AveraBrite technology, offering a brighter screen for crystal-clear viewing.
The 2200 Series combines AMD's best mobile CPUs with high-speed wireless communications and advanced storage options. The sleek and lightweight notebooks are available with 512MB or 1GB memory, an 80GB hard drive and a dual-layer DVD burner optical drive. The 2200 Series enables the easy transfer of digital photos with its integrated 4-in-1 media reader that supports SD, MS, MMC and MS Pro media formats, as well as its IEEE 1394 FireWire port.
Offered with either Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition or Professional, the 2200 Series also is Microsoft Windows Vista-capable. As security in the digital age continues to be a critical issue, the Averatec 2200 Series notebook delivers comprehensive online protection. The notebook comes fully loaded with a trial version of ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 6.0. In addition, the 2200 Series includes a full trial version of Phoenix FirstWare Recover Pro software that stores user data, applications and the operating system in the secure, host-protected area (HPA) of the hard drive. After the trial period users will still have the factory recovery solution available to them. This free feature will restore the computer to its original factory condition in the event of virus or malware attacks causing damage to the system.
