Sprint Adds Sierra Wireless AirCard 595 with Mac OS X Support to EV-DO Rev. A Line-up
      #26494 - 01/13/07 03:21 PM

Sprint and Sierra Wireless are pleased to announce that the Sprint Mobile Broadband Connection Card by Sierra Wireless (AirCard 595) is now available for use with select Mac laptops. As the first EV-DO Revision A-capable device to offer support for Mac users, the AirCard 595 allows Powerbook users to leverage the high-speed wireless data benefits of the Sprint Power Vision Network to gain fast, secure wireless access to critical information and applications. Sprint today has the most wireless broadband coverage of any carrier through its Power Vision Network (EV-DO), which reaches more than 200 million people nationwide, covering over 220 communities with at least a 100,000 population as well as 780 airports nationwide. Additionally Sprint has upgraded its network to provide EV-DO Revision A coverage to nearly 75 million POPs in more than 21 major markets.

More info about the AirCard:

While it's true that Sprint has released this Mac solution for the Aircard 595, it has been found to be unreliable. Fortunately, there is another option! The PX-500 is Rev A and has a simple and reliable Mac solution - see a review at evdoinfo.com. In addition to the reliable Mac compatibility, it's also cheaper than the Aircard 595. In fact, it's free after a $50 mail-in rebate. Order one at Booster-antenna.com.
