Anycom Announces FIPO Bluetooth Device for Mobile Phones
      #26537 - 01/16/07 02:55 PM

ANYCOM has announced the launch of FIPO, a small Bluetooth device allowing any Bluetooth mobile phone or other device with Bluetooth A2DP compatibility to stream audio to other products intended for use with an Apple iPod.

FIPO is the first product to enable the use of the cell phone as an MP3 player wirelessly, without any compromise of sound quality because of limited connectivity of accessories. This product enables the use of a mobile phone to listen to music, in one of the most popular places, the car. Unlike FM transmitters that sometimes have poor sound quality because of the analogue communication, FIPO uses Bluetooth technology and streams audio in crystal clear, digital quality to the car stereo system.

To use, simply plug FIPO into the connector designated for an Apple iPod, and it will begin its search for paired devices. After auto-pairing, the devices will have exchanged control commands, like play, pause and next. This allows the user to control the mobile phone in the same way they would control the iPod while in the car; through buttons on the steering wheel or car stereo.

?The ANYCOM FIPO opens a whole new world to iPod accessory user,? said ANYCOM CEO Walter Daguhn. ?This small device is easy to install and use and will dramatically enhance the user?s musical experience.?

iPod hi-fi systems or speaker systems dock specifically with the iPod and stream tunes to wherever it is in use. Now, instead of an iPod the FIPO can be plugged into those speaker systems and receive audio streams from any Bluetooth device. FIPO opens up the iPod accessory market, which is already a billion dollar industry, from 40 million iPods per year to one billion mobile phones and Bluetooth devices per year.

FIPO is a hardware and software bridge between Bluetooth technology and the Apple iPod docking specification. When using FIPO, operators break into the ?ecosystem? that Apple has created for iPod users. The new product takes advantage of Bluetooth?s compatibility with Apple iPod products to enhance users? overall listening experience.

FIPO will be released on January 8, 2007. Mass production of this product in the United States and Europe will begin February 15, 2007 and will be available for an MSRP of $99.00.
