iTunes is now selling the second season of the animated Fox comedy "American Dad," marking the first time one of Fox's popular animated series has been sold on the download service.
This subversive series from Seth McFarlane ("Family Guy") revolves around Stan Smith, a CIA agent and proud family man. The family includes wife (and former party girl) Francine, ultra-liberal daughter Hayley, and geeky Steve. There's also Roger, a sarcastic space alien, and Klaus, a lascivious talking goldfish.
Individual episodes are available for the standard price of $1.99 each, or a season pass is available for $37.99. Although nothing further has been announced at this time, the addition of "American Dad" to the iTunes Store would seem to increase hopes that "Family Guy" and possibly even "The Simpsons" could be added to iTunes at a later date.
If you have iTunes on your computer, your can view the available episodes here; if not, you can download iTunes for free at Apple's web site. Most episodes are rated TV-14.
