As has been discussed elsewhere, Verizon Wireless has disabled the native GPS features of the phone. This isn't something that burdens the VZW network--it is an autonomous feature that is part of the smartphone.
Go with Sprint, which does not turn the Blackberry into a "dumbphone."
Just a heads-up to steer clear of the ridiculous rip-off that is VZW.
